It's a spin-off of the streaming service's already existing 'Daredevil' series.
It's official: Netflix has ordered a series based on The Punisher.
This marks the sixth series that Netflix has ordered from Marvel, which also includes Jessica Jones, the upcoming Luke Cage and Daredevil. Also fitting is that it is a Daredevil spinoff, which means that former Walking Dead star Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as the titular character.

The Punisher is Frank Castle, the decorated military veteran who adapts his own lethal form of justice, after having done time in Riker's Island. The debut Netflix series trailer, released today (April 29), features little else but an eerie lullaby and Castle's gravelly voice. "Coming soon," it says.
