He'll be playing Kurt Russell's protege.

While some thought that Furious 7 was the end of the film series, Fast & Furious 8 has not only been officially announced (along with two more following it), but it's been revealing which stars will be joining the cast as well. And it looks like Scott Eastwood will be the latest addition to the new movie.

"Kurt Russell’s Mr. Nobody has a new protégé. Welcome @ScottEastwood to the Fast family. 4.14.17. #F8," the film's Twitter account posted last night (April 11).

The announcement also confirms that Kurt Russell, who played Mr. Nobody in the last movie, will also be reprising his role in the eighth installment of the franchise. Last week, the film revealed that Charlize Theron will be playing the villain in the new movie.

Fast & Furious 8 is set to hit theaters on April 14, 2017. It will then be followed by Fast & Furious 9 on April 19, 2019 and Fast & Furious 10 on April 2, 2021.
