For a while, it looked like Daya was going to be one of the low-key successes of the year, and then she partnered up with The Chainsmokers, and that “low-key” phrase was no longer appropriate. The singer first grabbed people’s attention with "Hide Away," and not too long afterwards, her Chainsmokers collab “Don’t Let Me Down” climbed the charts with some serious speed, making it all the way to No. 3. After that, her own follow-up single “Sit Still, Look Pretty” peaked at No. 28, giving her a third platinum-seller. Since then, 18-year-old Daya has released her debut album and collected her first Grammy nomination, which isn't too shabby for someone just getting started in the music biz.
