Nothing goes better with a World Championship Title than a well-designed tattoo!
The Undertaker
The gimmicks of “Mean Mark” Callous or The Master of Pain were ink free and as generic as you could find in the late ‘80s. That all changed once Mark Calaway made his way to WWE and was resurrected from the grave as The Undertaker. Decked out in black, the gimmick was pushed as an undead Western mortician with supernatural powers. With the new persona came fresh ink, mainly a collage of skulls, demons and more evil imagery that you’d expect to find on “The Deadman.”
Now sporting two full sleeves on both arms, The Undertaker has become a widely respected tattooed icon in wrestling and the sports world. On his right arm you’ll find the two most recognizable pieces of ink — that of a skull-faced undertaker on his forearm and the “thinking demon” above on his bicep. As badass as The Phenom is, he’s not immune to the significant other tattoo, as he once had his ex-wife’s name Sara across his throat.
Batista
Following in the footsteps of The Rock, Batista has made his way to Hollywood making a name for himself with roles in films like Spectre and Guardians of the Galaxy as Drax the Destroyer. Even though now he sports tribal sleeves on both arms, during his wrestling days “The Animal” was known for three pieces of ink. The first and funniest is a small sun pattern around his belly button, followed by the original tribal style ink on his right arm with the word “DC Solider,” referencing the city he was born in. The third and most popular piece of ink is found on his back, which is a massive intricate Chinese dragon. Starting from his neck and ending at his his lower back, the dragon represents his warrior spirit. Don’t be surprised if Batista adds some Marvel ink at some point!
