The San Francisco-based hard rockers write a cautionary tale based on the iconic 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' character.
gP. want to remind you of the dangers of emulating some of your idols. The emo-tinged rockers came up with "Let's Not Forget Holly Golightly" when one of the band members noticed that his younger sister had begun to take to Audrey Hepburn's Holly Golightly character in Breakfast at Tiffany's.
"When I noticed my sister idolizing this lavish woman, I started to write lyrics about how I didn’t want her to end up facing these same cosmetic issues," writes the band. "Life isn't about finding purpose in the world of good looking, cool people. Holly Golightly is an iconic female character in the film and I wanted to give my own take on her misrepresentation."
In their new music video, gP. performs their track, which the group self-describes as "catchy as well as heavy and driving," while showing shadowy shots of liquor, cigarettes, pills and half-naked ladies.
Let's just say that it doesn't end on a happy note. See for yourself below.
