'Cold Moon' star cheers, fights sharks, runs a YouTube channel and wants to inspire you.

She hangs out with Dr. Emmett Brown. She fights sharks. She dances, sings and acts. Oh, and she also has a six-pack to die for.

Rachele Brooke Smith has a few things to say when it comes to pursuing your dreams and not giving up (she did have to let go of her athletic ambitions when she was a teenager). That's why she has her own philosophy and motivational blog. And that’s just a few things you should know about the star of the new thriller, Cold Moon. Below are 10 more.

She’s a Trained Athlete

It may sound like a dull cliché, but Rachele Brooke Smith really ticks all the boxes when it comes to being a natural-born performer. “I grew up as a competitive gymnast in Phoenix, AZ, and was always super driven. Gymnastics taught me many great things like determination, perseverance and hard work and learning how to become fearless. But I also had so much anxiety all the time and eventually broke my hand and had a surgery when I was 13. It was a really, really hard time for me, because it was my life and my world at the time. I had to figure out what to do with my life and needed a new goal and passion.”

She Was Destined to Be in 'Center Stage 2'

Life works in mysterious ways: leaving her competitive gymnastics career behind, Rachele found herself playing competitive athletes. There’s a whole bunch of movies in Rachele Brooke’s resume about competitions — whether she’s heading the cheerleading squad in Bring It On: Fight to the Finish or dancing her way to the top in Center Stage: Turn It Up. The latter was a dream gig for the aspiring actress.

“The first dance movie that I saw was Center Stage. I remember sitting in the theater and not being able to move as that was that moment I went: 'That’s what I wanna do.' Long story short, and a whole roller-coaster of emotions and challenges later, I ended up playing the lead in the sequel to that movie. That was my first big acting and dancing role when I was 18. I got to LA on a scholarship and couldn’t work for the whole year — all I could do was train. I was dancing, acting and singing eight hours a day, six days a week. As soon as I finished I saw a casting call announcement on the wall for Center Stage 2. I remember my heart dropping. It was my movie. I watched it all the time when I was feeling sad and lonely in that big city.” Apparently the producers saw that spark in up-and-coming actress as she got the role and even returned for the Center Stage 3, which came out earlier this year.

She Was Also Destined to Cheer

“When I had to stop doing gymnastics, I was looking for my new passion and I tried cheerleading for about a year. I wasn’t on the best team, and I remember thinking I didn’t like it and I said to myself: I’ll never be a cheerleader. I’m a dancer.

I ended up on a Pom Line in high school, which is basically cheerleading without the stunts, and then I got the role in Bring It On and became a cheerleader for a couple of month. Then I was a cheerleader on Glee. And after that I worker on a film called Fired Up, where I also played a cheerleader. So for that whole year I was a cheerleader. Bring It On gave me so much respect for cheerleaders. I think that’s one of the most difficult sports there is, and that they don’t get enough credit for what they do.”

She Loves Playing Bad Girls

Smith's had her fair share of good characters and bad ones: we still quote her line “I’m like this close to caring” from Bring It On and *may have* asked her to repeat it just for us.

“I definitely love playing characters that are very different from myself. That way you really get to dive-in in acting. There is definitely something that is so fun about playing a bad girl. I’m the complete opposite of what you would call a “mean girl,” but for some reason I love playing these characters.”

She’s Starring In 'Cold Moon'

Smith’s next big project is a suspense thriller called Cold Moon, which hits the theaters just in time for Halloween on October 27. The movie is based on the novel Cold Moon Over Babylon by Michael McDowell, who wrote the screenplay for Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice, although Cold Moon promises to be way more sinister than any of the Burton’s offerings.

“I’m sure this movie will blow everyone away. It was so awesome playing alongside Christopher Lloyd, ‘cause I grew up watching Back to the Future. It was very intimidating for me at first actually to play opposite of him. He’s playing this grumpy old man in the movie and I think he kinda took that on a little bit. My role was another dream come true — I play this Southern belle character. And Southern characters are really one of my strengths. My character Belinda is the happiest, most energetic one and the light of that dark film. She’s almost like a comedic relief.”

She Knows How to Kick a Shark’s Ass

Summer season is hard to imagine without a pack of shark flicks these days, but this past summer brought the fans of light-hearted large-toothed entertainment more than just Sharknado 4. Rachele Smith played the lead (but not the shark) in Atomic Shark, yet another SyFy’s TV movie about CGI-sharks attacking a team of good-looking heroes.

“Growing up an athlete, I love fighting. I really wanna do more action hero roles. In Atomic Shark I’m playing Gina, who is such a badass. She’s a lifeguard who teams up with a marine biologist to save the world, or the West Coast anyway. It’s a very fun action comedy — my favorite combination. I’m basically in a bathing suit the whole movie, so it’s pretty interesting [laughs]. I fight a shark and there’s also a very cool catfight scene in there.” Sold!

She Does Her Own Stunts

“I still have some battle scars from Atomic Shark, as I was doing my own stunts. We were filming in Puerto Rico and there are lots of bugs there, so I was attacked by some very cool bugs. And jellyfish, too.”

She’s Also a Singer

All-around entertainer, remember? “Some of my songs are in Atomic Shark. Right now I’m really focused on acting though. But singing is something that I love to do, and I just really want to have some inspiring songs in the movies that I do.”

She’s UNBREAKABLE

She also dedicates her time to her YouTube project with a pretty in-your-face title, UNBREAKABLE.

“It’s my very special project. My company is called Unbreakable Production. My goal is to put up content that inspires people to create the life they want. It’s all about finding the inner strength to get back up again no matter what. ‘Cause that’s what every successful or just happy person is about: getting back up. I hope my content will make people question their daily habits and other things. In no way am I a guru; I don’t know everything, I’m learning along my journey, but I love to share stories. That’s why I love being an actress: there’s so much power in storytelling. I love sharing other people’s stories; I love sharing what I personally learned along the way. If I can help someone get through a challenge faster, I will be more than happy.”

She’ll Teach You How to Work Out

Smith’s also involved in Flo-Rida’s Flo Fit program. “I shot that with Flo a while ago. I loved working with him, he’s such an inspiring person to be around. I really liked his fitness program. I honestly think it’s one of the best workout programs and I remember when I was doing it, I felt like I was in the best shape of my life.” But what’s her personal secret regarding staying fit and healthy? Dancing? Fighting sharks?

“I really try to follow what I call Unbreakable philosophy. I question myself every day: What did I do today to get stronger mentally and physically and spiritually? My logo is three interconnected triangles: each one represents one of the elements. I think the power of this question is huge. That’s why I also started my apparel line. I realized that I created all of these rules that I used to live by, but didn’t question them. And a lot of times our habits don’t help us become the best versions of ourselves. So I wanted to put out something that would be fun yet inspiring. Every shirt in my store is super soft and has fun logos on them. One says, 'I don’t work, I flow,' the other one says 'Life before likes.' These are for both girls and boys.” Okay, we’ll need some sent to our office, please.
