From Granger Smith to Maren Morris, here are some country artists we think will make a splash this year.

Now that the calendar year has changed over to 2016, many in the country music industry are wondering who might make the impact of a Sam Hunt or a Cam in the New Year. Well….that would require a crystal ball and an innate ability to predict the future—neither of which I have mastered the art of…yet. However, there are a few artists that seem poised and ready to leave a mark. Here’s a look at some of the best new Country artists on the horizon!

Tucker Beathard

The son of songwriting ace Casey Beathard, the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree. The rising talent has assembled quite a collection of songs for his Tucker Beathard: The Demos- Vol. 1. The sampling of his talent is paced by the exceptional story song “Tennessee,” which combines music with football—two classic southern ways of life. Scott Borchetta wisely took notice of his talent and signed him as one of the brightest hopes for Dot Records in 2016.

Anderson East

Right now, the Alabama native is known as the man who is making Miranda Lambert smile, but a closer look at his talent finds an artist that is sure to make an impact. The singer is currently in the midst of a promotional run for his new album Delilah. Produced by the red-hot Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell), this release should further cement his reputation as an artist who paints outside the lines.

Brooke Eden

For all their success with Jason Aldean, Randy Houser and Dustin Lynch, Broken Bow has yet to hit with a Female Artist in a big way as of yet. That could very change with this stunning Florida native, who has the looks, charisma and the talent to leave fans wanting more. SiriusXM has taken note of her debut single “American Dreamin’,” and we think she’s going to be the subject of many Country fans’ dreams before things are said and done.

Maren Morris

Sony has definitely scored as of late with Cam and Old Dominion, and look for big things from this uniquely talented 25-year old Dallas native. Her debut EP sounds like nothing else on the market these days, and that’s a good thing. She really sets herself apart with the angst-ridden vibe of “Drunk Girls Don’t Cry,” and the drive of “80’s Mercedes,” which could very well have been a hidden track off of Alanis Morissette’s iconic Jagged Little Pill.

Morgan Myles

Simply put, this Pennsylvania native has “it”—in spades. Songwriting moxie, stage presence, charisma and a vocal range that is just about second to none these days. She can swing between tempo and ballad with ease, and Nashville hasn’t seen anything as smoldering as the sensual “Nobody Better Than You” since the days of Hill and Twain.

Shane Owens

If you wonder if country music has forgotten its roots, this traditional-based singer from LA (Lower Alabama!) might just re-ignite your faith in the format. His style is very reminiscent of a young Randy Travis, which makes a lot of sense considering Travis’s first musical project since his 2013 stroke is helping to produce Owens’ new disc. An album that contains the back-to-basics single “Where I’m Comin’ From.” Trust us, he leaves no doubts as to that!

Mo Pitney

If there is an artist that Nashville isn’t a bigger cheerleader of right now, one would be hard pressed to find them. The Illinois native has made believers of newer fans of the format, as well as many of the veteran performers such as Bill Anderson and Jeannie Seely. “Country” and “Boy and Girl Thing” have made an impact so far, but wait until you hear “Clean Up On Aisle Five.” You’ll be as big of a fan as we are!

Post Monroe

If there seems to be a lean toward female artists on this list, it’s because (finally) the tide seems to be turning toward them. Comprised of Ashlee Hewitt, Whitney Duncan and Shelby McLeod, this harmony-laden trio is sure to garner much interest in the coming year. They have just inked a songwriting deal with Sony/ATV, and the future looks nothing but bright!

Dylan Scott

Hailing from deep in the heart of the Bayou Country, this Curb recording artist has been garnering quite a bit of well-deserved attention with his current single, “Crazy Over Me.” Quite possibly the most versatile artist on this list, Scott can run the musical gamut, from traditional sounds all the way to more current stylings. Set to make his Grand Ole Opry debut, 2016 is shaping up to be a year to remember!

Granger Smith

He has slowly built his career inch by inch and brick by brick over the past few years, but with a new recording deal with Wheelhouse (a part of Broken Bow), the sky is the limit for Smith—as well as his comic alter-ego “Earl Dibbles, Jr.,” who has become quite a favorite of fans and CBS Sports alike, being a part of their College Football coverage.
