Looks like Gov Ball won't be the only fest you'll be enjoying this summer, New Yorkers.
After speculation last year, Goldenvoice—the people behind the iconic Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival—have announced Panorama, which is set to launch this July.
Scheduled to take place on July 22-24 at New York City's Randall's Island Park, the new three-day event will offer the festival basics—good music, food and some interesting installations, which will include "a nearly 10,000–square-foot to-scale model of the city located in Queens Museum."
"We look forward to bringing Panorama to New York City and introducing a new festival that showcases today's top music acts," said Mark Shulman, festival producer at Goldenvoice, in a statement. "We're committed to creating an event that will provide significant benefits to New York City with the level of experience and meticulous attention to detail for which Goldenvoice is known."
The announcement follows a petition that the organizers for Governors Ball asking Mayor Bill de Blasio to reject the proposal for Panorama because it would take over Gov Ball's ticket sales. That festival will take place in the same park in June.
