It's the title sequence track for a European crime thriller.

Today David Bowie announced the title sequence track for The Last Panthers, a European crime thriller about gangsters and "banksters." This is the first song that rock 'n' roll's favorite stargazer has written for either film or TV in 20 years.

"The piece of music he laid before us embodied every aspect of our characters and the series itself—dark, brooding, beautiful and sentimental (in the best incarnation of the word," director Johan Renck says in a statement. "All along, the man inspired and intrigued me and as the process passed, I was overwhelmed with his generosity."

The Last Panthers airs in Canal Plus in France and on Sky Atlantic in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany and Austria this fall. See a trailer that premiered last summer below.
