Fans may be excited, though one designer in particular is pissed.
On Sunday Kanye West announced Yeezy Supply 2, his second collaboration with Adidas. For this he booked a surprise New York Fashion Week (NYFW) show for tomorrow, September 16, at noon EST—as in, the Council of Fashion Designers in America (CFDA) had no prior knowledge of the event. Kanye also just announced that 36 movie theaters from around the world will live stream the event, just as with his debut collection Yeezy Supply last season.
This last-minute news forced designer Anne Bowen to file a complaint with the CFDA. Anne's NYFW show was originally scheduled the same day as Kanye's at 12:30 pm EST. “In order for our show to have any significance, we now have to move our date and time which is a logistical nightmare, three days out from our originally scheduled time,” Anne said to Women's Wear Daily.
Kanye's debut Fashion Week show, where the rapper also debuted "Wolves" featuring Sia and Vic Mensa, drew the likes of Beyoncé, Jay Z, Nicki Minaj and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
