Last night Kendrick Lamar performed as the first-ever musical guest on Late Night with Stephen Colbert. The Compton rap savior did a medley of songs from his sophomore album To Pimp a Butterfly: "Wesley's Theory," "Momma," "King Kunta" and "u." And, while he has largely abandoned the arena rock-style setup that he used for good kid, m.A.A.d. city shows, Kendrick was a more commanding performer than ever before. His whole body convulsed as if he couldn't control himself, yet his verses about suffering in black America sounded as sharp as ever. Watch below.
