It's finally here, after a years-long wait for the Marvel adaptation.

After a years-long wait, the debut Deadpool trailer has arrived. Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is suddenly close to dying, so he agrees to participate in a governmental experiment in hopes of staying alive—how most superhero stories begin. As fans know, however, Deadpool isn't the average superhero. Somehow, he is keenly aware of what tends to happen in these Marvel-created scenarios ("Please don't make the supersuit green. Or animated"). He's a gunslinger in a Spandex suit, which means that showdowns get atypically bloody. Plus, the first glimpse at Deadpool in action isn't even of him fighting, but—well, you'll see.

Back in 2013, director Tim Miller was waiting for Fox to move forward with his adaptation, which was risky because of its unconventional, hard R rating. "Ryan is ready, I am ready, the fans are ready. We just need that elusive green light," he said to IGN. Watch the trailer below to see if Deadpool looks to be worth the wait.
