Over the weekend, Dr. Dre announced he'll finally be releasing his new album. However, it's not the highly anticipated Detox; it's called Compton A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre, and, get this, it's coming out on Friday.

The lauded rapper/producer broke the news on his Beats 1 Radio show, "The Pharmacy," on Saturday, and it's no coincidence the release comes just a week before the film, Straight Outta Compton, drops—a movie that depicts the story of Dre's hip hop group, N.W.A. 

The album will feature fellow N.W.A member Ice Cube, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem and will be out August 7 through Aftermath/Interscope Records. Until then, here's one of our faves off his last album, 1999's The Chronic 2001.
