Well deserved, Yeezy.

Kanye West will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards. Previous honorees include Madonna, Beastie Boys, Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake—and, of course, Michael Jackson himself. And Kanye more than deserves it. In 2003, he made an instant impression with his debut "Through the Wire" video, with the camera panning over Polaroids of him, among other things, in intensive care with his jaw wired shut. From there, it's still tough to pick which of Kanye's videos is most memorable, between "All Falls Down" with its first-person perspective, the Akira-referencing "Stronger" video and the live Renaissance painting that was the "Power" clip, and oh so much more. See MTV's announcement below.
