Albarn was dragged off by security after 4am

Damon Albarn, widely known as the front man for Blur and the backbone of the broadly collaborative supergroup, The Gorrillaz, was carried off stage by security after an enthusiastic five-plus-hour set in Denmark. Attendees of The Roskilde Music Festival enjoyed a very special performance where Albarn was the driving force behind the series of encores. While there was no protest from the audience, it was clear to see in this instance it was not the crowd pleading for more but rather Albarn, chanting “More, more, more!”

Albarn and his band, Africa Express, performed a marathon of original and cover songs, including The Gorillaz’s Clint Eastwood and The Clash’s Should I Stay or Should I Go. Africa Express is a project that includes Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Seye Adeklan, and Songhoy Blues. Just after 4am, Albarn was eventually physically removed by venue staff citing that they were in violation of curfew. Video below.
