The hip-hop mogul denies trying to hold Wayne hostage on his label—or kill him.

Birdman finally addresses the accusations of trying to sabotage Lil Wayne. In a new interview with rap radio personality Angie Martinez, the Cash Money honcho maintains that, nearly a decade after "Like Father, Like Son," he still sees himself as a father figure to Weezy.

Birdman denies trying to hold Lil Wayne hostage on Cash Money—the initial reason why people believed there was beef. He says that, if Wayne proceeds with this $51 million lawsuit against Cash Money for not releasing Tha Carter V, he will fork the money over. And if Wayne wants to leave Cash Money, Birdman would let him. "He got my blessings," he says.

That said, Birdman also denies throwing a drink at Lil Wayne during a recent nightclub performance (though he was there), or conspiring with Young Thug to shoot up two of the famed rapper's tour buses, despite a recent indictment that named them both. “If they gon' shoot a gun at my child, I got a problem like that," he says to Martinez. Moreover, he dispels rumors that he has an antagonistic relationship with Wayne altogether.

However, Birdman did make one eyebrow-raising comment: If Lil Wayne was to leave Cash Money, the signees on Wayne's imprint Young Money—Nicki Minaj and Drake—wouldn't be able to leave as well. "Nicki and Drake aren't going nowhere, regardless."
