Seems like the four dudes of One Direction are taking a break. After the boy band releases their next album—slated for this autumn—the group will be taking a break for at least 12 months. During this time, One Direction members Harry Styles reportedly wants to work on a solo release, while Louis Tomlinson will be allowed the time to become a judge on X Factor. 

Rumor has it, the remaining members—Liam Payne and Niall Horan—want to continue doing One Direction, while the others aren't so keen.

In the months following former member Zayn Malik's abrupt departure from the boy band, Tomlinson and Malik have clashed a few times over social media. However, on May 15, One Direction addressed Malik's departure on The Late Late Show With James Corden, with Payne stating, “At first, we were a little bit angry. We were surprised. But I think we all knew the general vibe Zayn was feeling.”

In March, Malik suddenly quit One Direction after being photographed in Thailand with a girl who wasn't his fiancée. His official statement referred to the remaining members of One Direction as "four friends for life," adding that "I know they will continue to be the best band in the world."
