If Sheldon Cooper is your hero, keep reading.

The Big Bang Theory series creator Chuck Lorre, along with stars Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch, and a few of the show's writers have gotten together to contribute to the first ever scholarship to exist that's named after a television show. The troop raised more than $4 million to kick off The Big Bang Theory Scholarship Endowment for STEM (that's cience/technology/engineering/mathematics) majors at UCLA.

“We have all been given a gift with The Big Bang Theory, a show that’s not only based in the scientific community, but also enthusiastically supported by that same community,” Lorre shared via statement. “This is our opportunity to give back. In that spirit, our Big Bang family has made a meaningful contribution, and together, we’ll share in the support of these future scholars, scientists and leaders.”

With the scholarship, 20 recipients will be selected for the 2015-2016 academic year. In 2016-2017, the group hopes to add an additional five scholars.
