She just didn't know, apparently.

The Marina Abramović Institute has issued a formal apology to Jay Z. As we reported yesterday, performance artist Marina Abramović complained to Spike Art Magazine about her involvement with Jay Z's  "Picasso Baby" video.

Abramović stated that Jay used her for his own gain and never helped out with her performance art educational institute—something he allegedly promised that he'd do during negotiations for the video.

"I am very pissed by this, since he adapted my work only under one condition: that he would help my institute. Which he didn’t," Abramović told Spike Art

Today, the institute has issued a statement apologizing, explaining that the artist actually just simply wasn't aware of Jay Z's donation before her interview. Check out the full statement below:
