'Rings' is set for a November 13 release.

Remember 2002 hit horror film The Ring? A remake of the 1998 Japanese film Ringu, the movie starring Naomi Watts was our first introduction to a, uh, troubled child with freakishly long black hair named Samara and a cursed video tape that gave way to a slew of Japanese-to-American horror remakes and plenty of parodies. We also got The Ring Two a few years later that further elaborated on just where the hell Sahara had come from.

So what's there left to the story of Samara? We're not sure, but there's a prequel coming regardless: Directed by F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall), Rings will hit theaters November 13.

According to Bloody Digusting, the film—which will be in 3D—takes places years before the creation of that tape... and some more about Samara's origin story. Ah.
