Good riddance, Larry Bloom.
Yesyesyesyesyeyes: Jason Biggs has confirmed with the New York Daily News that he will not be reprising his role as Larry Bloom on the next season of Orange is the New Black.
“They’re not focusing on Larry at the moment … Larry will not be in Season 3,” Biggs said. However, he did also note that “there’s always a chance that he can come back” in any future seasons.
Larry Bloom is the sleazy husband of the show's protagonist (Piper Chapman). Larry is a fledgling freelance journalist who ends up having an affair with Piper's (...former?) best friend.
While we're not sorry to see Biggs/Larry go, we can't help but wonder if the departure has anything to do with the controversial headlines Biggs made throughout 2014, including his tweet asking "Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flyer miles?" that was sent out just hours following the June 2014 tragedy that ended with the death of all 295 people on board.
In the meantime, Netflix has not announced the premiere date for Orange is the New Black Season 3.
