The Aussie rapper tells us about his year and goals for 2016.

Despite growing up in Australia, rapper Allday (aka Tom Gaynor) connected most with the music of artists like Talib Kweli, Hi-Tek, and Kanye West. So it doesn’t seem too surprising that he’d eventually find his way to the US. In 2014, after garnering lots of attention in his native country with Startup Cult, Wind-Up Records took notice and released the rapper’s debut album in the States.

Soon after, Allday was joining Mod Sun on tour, answering weird messages from fans on Facebook and dropping a new mixtape, Soft Grunge Love Rap. It’s tough to say what exactly the next year will bring for Allday, but it will probably involve new music, more touring and dope shirts. In the meantime, the Aussie rapper details for Myspace the bests and worsts of 2015.

Most Influential Rap Album: Probably Future—DS2. I guess everyone is influence by different people. But I think this year was Future's zeitgeist.

Best Moment with Mod Sun: It's so hard choosing the best moment because we had a lot of good times. I personally loved Denver. We ate at a diner at 1 A.M. and invented a game where you pick up your friend and try to throw him/her into a water fountain while he/she tries to resist. It sounds kind of dumb but it was funny to us.

Most Underrated Song: “Bouncin’” by Chief Keef.

Coolest New Shirt: Vetements hoodie.

Worst Stop on Tour: No such thing as a bad show. If there's one person, that’s enough. We'll fuck it up.

Craziest Snap You Received: People smoke bongs and dedicate it to me, I get lots of pictures of people's bodily waste in toilet bowls, nudes, twerking, fights, people rapping or singing. My Snapchat stream is wonderful.

Coolest Tattoo: Any tattoo of my lyrics or Allday-related shit is my favorite. My friend Northside also got one that says "Can't Love.” I think that's badass.

Best Birthday Memory: I can't even remember my birthday—that's a bad sign. I guess that means I was doing something really fun.

Favorite Way to Smoke: I haven't smoked much this year. But when I was smoking it was all green with two papers. I did try that vaping shit in NYC. It got me really high but it just feels so fucking weird and corny.

Worst Food: Kimchi. I don't fuck with kimchi. I have tried it prior to this year, but I tried it again this year and I still don't fuck with it.

Favorite Venue: The Roundhouse at Sydney University. So big and rad. I also enjoyed playing in front of about 15 people on a Monday night at a dive bar in Rochester, NY.

Best Movie: Eraserhead. I finally watched it this year and it's so odd but so well done. The poster was always in my best friend's room when we were growing up so I've been meaning to see it forever.

Worst TV Show: I don't watch bad TV shows really because I don't have a TV aerial in my TV. I just have it connected to like Apple TV or whatever so I watch only shows that are recommended to me by lots of people. That being said, Orange Is The New Black got boring.

Worst Text You Wish You Didn’t Send: Some girl I met who seemed like a nice girl next door type. I messaged her at 4 AM when I was on drugs asking where she was at. She just wrote back "haha seriously?"

Best Crowd: Pittsburgh in the USA and Caloundra in Australia.

Best YouTube Video: I'm obsessed with On Cinema. It's a movie review YouTube show with movie buffs.

Best New Artist You’d Love to Collaborate with Next Year: Post Malone. He's rad.

Worst Social Media Experience: People threatening to kill me in my inbox. Shut the fuck up! You're not going to do shit! Come up to me on the street or shut the fuck up!

Most Interesting Tour Destination: Mesa, Arizona was weird to me. I had never seen a real-life cactus before.

Best Concert You Saw: This old Australian band called Hoodoo Gurus. They headlined a festival I played. And they were TIGHT. There were so many white 50-year-olds dancing in one place, it was kind of fucked up, but the band was good.
