You haven't heard the '1989' track performed this way before.

Taylor Swift recently performed "Out of the Woods" as no one has heard it before. The enormous studio version has Taylor's voice backed by a synth snare that Jack Antonoff (fun., Bleachers) helped create by dropping his gear bag to the floor. But on September 30 at the Grammy Museum, Taylor sat at the piano for a solo performance. What can be great about hearing songs unplugged is how it forces you to hear an aspect of the song that you haven't paid much attention to before, which is definitely the case here: This 1989 track is about the anxiety that can come with a relationship with an impending expiration date and how you two bide your time until then. While the original amplifies that anxiety, this rendition makes it easier to hear how vulnerable Taylor feels as a result. Watch below.
