The British crooner announces that he'll be going on hiatus for a little while.

Since the moment he released "Stay With Me" and In the Lonely Hour, Sam Smith has been going on hyper speed navigating through non-stop meet-and-greets, red carpet events and performances night after night. And after he suffered a vocal chord hemorrhage earlier this year, the singer has decided that it's time for break.

"I am sad, but also it feels right," Smith told ET during CBS Radio's We Can Survive concert. "It's my last performance in America, and it feels right to do it in such a beautiful setting."

He also added that he wanted to focus on his actual life, especially after having such a grueling few years in the spotlight. "I've been going now for three years nonstop and it feels right for me to just go home and just live my life and be a 23-year-old," he said. "My love life, the downs and ups, it never stops, so I'm always inspired by stuff like that, but it'd be good to spend some time dating."

While we're saddened by the news, we wish him all the best and hope that this hiatus isn't too long.
