Fans practically broke the Internet—or, at least, the online ticket sites.

It's no secret that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is one of the most anticipated releases of 2015. However, it looks like the excitement over the film was so great that it kind of broke the Internet. With less than two months before it hits theaters, fans from all over the world hopped onto their favorite cinema ticket sites to reserve seats for December 18. However, the overwhelming demand crashed the web's most popular movie sites including Fandango, the Alamo Drafthouse and AMC Theaters.

According to Deadline, Fandango bared the technical problems. Not only did customers experience a lag or just being completely timed out of the site's homepage, but others also reported that the site would crash as they were finalizing their purchases. Despite the problems, the lucky ones (or those who were patient enough to try again) were able to buy their tickets and are gearing up for the big premiere day.

And in case you've been living under a rock or have actually never seen a Star Wars film, the full trailer also dropped on the interwebs last night. Check it out below.
