PRE PROFESSIONAL FIELD EXPERIENCE

Menard’s Inventory Controller Manager, Cicero, IL January 2013 - Present

1 Look into why counts of an item are in error. This can involve working with management and team members alike to verify any number of reasons behind inventory inaccuracy (i.e. theft, misplacement of product,shipping error, open prepaid, etc.)

2 Double check that all management paperwork is done correctly and spot check price change checklist.

3 Out of stock as much of the store as possible while completing a randomized list of product generated every Monday that has to be inventoried before the end of that week. Any issues encountered in the process need to be written up in a report and given to the appropriate department in charge of the product so it can be looked into.

4 Every two weeks an unofficial audit is to be conducted to let the departments better understand problem areas with inventory around the store along with possible reasons as to what the cause could be.

5 Every month prepare a list of foods that are set to expire the next month in the grocery department and give to manager in charge of the area. Make store manager aware of any product found expired and defect merchandise.

Menard's Receiving Clerk, Cicero, IL October 2008 – January 2013

1 Process all incoming freight. This includes helping unload drivers when electric pallet jack or forklift in necessitated, checking in and signing for product, and entering in merchandise in a timely, but accurate manner to insure vendor payment and inventory accuracy.

2 Keep track of all special orders/prepaids and maintain them organized in the Prepaid Room.

3 Keep receiving area organized, this can mean forklifting,key making, cutting wire, driving the vertical lift/cherry picker to help pull an order, collecting cardboard, and helping out fellow team-members and as many guests as possible in an always friendly and welcoming manner.

Special Projects

Asian Pacific Heritage Month Events January 2007- May 2007 and January 2008 to May 2008

Helped coordinate the first annual and second annual Asian Pacific Heritage month. This involved creating events for the month of May and finding the funding for it. This often led to working with other organizations on campus to get them enmeshed in the process and help generate interest through word of mouth as well as flyers and e-mails.

Public History Course, Knox College January 2008 –March 2008

Mounted an exhibit on the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates that would be audience interactive and represent a twist; seeing the debate through the eyes of the crowd attending the debate as opposed to the candidates.

Archives Project, Knox College January 2008 –March 2008

Created a display on the culture behind baseball. It was done independently with the help of Archives and support of the Trio Achievement Program.
