A small town located in the mountains of VA. His dad a musician brought Andrew up to the sounds of "The Who, David Bowie, George Clinton and Parliament, AC/DC, to Prince to 7th grade where it all started for Andrew and his spark for music. His dad (Randy) put on Public Enemy's "In Fear of A Black Planet" and Tribe Called Quests "Midnight Marauders" and that was it. It instantly intrigued him to get into the hip hop culture and everything that surrounded the urban and hip hop scene.

Andrew has won 8 out of the 11 producer showcases he's competed in from New York, Philly, DC, Atlanta to Virginia. He's also a natural drummer and started when he was in 1st grade playing for his elementary school (Berkley Glenn) in 4th grade. Hypes has been dJ-ing since 05 rocking shows and clubs from New York, to Miami to DC, to Virginia Beach.
