Andrea Menard is a multi award-winning singer-songwriter who dazzles audiences on screen and stage – alone on a bare stage, singing a cappella, or accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra.
This multi-talented Métis performer has successfully bridged multiple styles by incorporating her powerful voice, a traditional folk upbringing, her theatrical background, a glamorous jazz persona, and her Native spiritual teachings into 3 award-winning albums: Sparkle (2009) Simple Steps (2005) and The Velvet Devil (2002). Once again, Menard and long time collaborator and producer, Robert Walsh have created a masterful cd of raw talent and poignant lyrics in her 4th album, Lift. The new “soul folk” album encompasses all of her best qualities and is Menard’s attempt to bring a positive message to the world.

Andrea’s new symphony show, I Am Andrea Menard, which debuted with the Regina Symphony Orchestra in May 2014, takes all the elements of her various talents - the jazz crooner, the traditional Métis singer, and the actress, and showcases a born entertainer and genuine personality. Menard has taken home multiple nominations and wins including the: “BestAboriginal Recording” at the Western Canadian Music Awards, the “Best Female Artist”“Best Single” and “Album of the Year” titles at the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards as well as the “Best International Artists” at the Aboriginal Peoples Music Awards.

Always envisioning multi-genre platforms for her music, Menard has written and starred in two television specials: The Velvet Devil, (CBC,WestWind Pictures) a made-for-television movie, adapted from her one-woman musical stage play that has been featured at film festivals in Denver, San Francisco, Toronto and Stuttgart; and Sparkle, (Wabunganung Films, APTN) a 70-minute, holiday tv special. Both shows garnered Gemini Award nominations for her outstanding performance.
