- Born in Cairo, daughter of pianist Marcelle Matta and painter AhmedFouad Selim. After studying piano, ballet and painting.

-Amira started her career as a membre and soloist at the Cairo Operacompany in 1997 and her first leading role was in Rossini’s Opera « II Barbiere diSiviglia » in 1998, It was followed by « Don Pasquale », « IlSignor Bruschino », « l’Elisir d’amore »,and Rigoletto in Cairo Opera House.

, She performedleading roles, such as « Il Campanello »1997, « l’Elisir d’amore » 2001,« Rigoletto » and « Falstaff » 2002 on the Mancinellitheatre in Orvieto.

- For her debut in France

in2004, she interpreted the title role of « Lakmé » by Leo Delibes atthe Opera of Rennes, and in 2005 she sang in ten performances of « CarminaBurana » at the Palais des Congrés in Paris

.In 2006 she participated in the Vienna Festival « spirits ofMozart » where she sang with famous jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, a DVDwas released later by EuroArts.

- In January 2007,she sang the title role of « Lakmé » at theOpera of Saint Etienne,France, and in March the Role of Nannetta in Verdi’s « Falstaff »at theOpera of Tours, France.

- In March 2012: The title Role of Praxa, the Egyptian Musical composedby Hisham Gabr in the Royal Opera of Muscat, Oman.

- In July 2012 she sings Highlights of Mozart's Operas in Cannes's Festival "Les Nuits duSuquet" with the "Orchestre Régional de Cannes" .

- In December 2012: Mozart l'Egyptien at theChatelet theatre in Paris. Followed by a Gala concert with China NationalSymphony Orchestra in Beijing, China.
