Almacita, ce sont des chansons festives et poétiques où se mêlent le Français, l’Occitan, l’Anglais et l’Espagnol, interprétées avec une énergie débordante et communicative ! ! !

Fondé en 2008, par Alain Servant et Guilhem Surpas, Almacita évolue durant trois années sous diverse formes allant du duo au quintet.

En 2011, la rencontre avec Sébastien Gayet (Basse) et Anthony Cantau (Batterie) va fixer le groupe dans sa forme actuelle : en quatuor.

Le groupe travaille sur de nouvelles compositions tout en parcourant les routes de Bordeaux à Clermont Ferrand, et de Toulouse à Lille, de cafés-concert en festivals.

La poésie, le rock, l'improvisation, les musiques du monde s'entremêlent et donnent naissance à un nouveau style que le groupe baptisera : Guinguette Roots Rock.

Au printemps dernier, Almacita a enregistré sept de ses nouveaux titres sur un EP qui sortira à l'automne 2013

The music of Almacita emerges from the meeting of world and contemporary music. Brazilian rhythms are interwoven with bluesriffs; a ska undertone meets the Turkish sounds of the oud; electric guitarfinds its way into a rousing waltz. French, Occitan, Spanish and English driftthrough lively and poetic songs which exude an exuberant and otherworldly energy….

Behind the delicate name and the autumnal colours of the album cover lies a music which reverberates with life. The roots of this musicare anchored in tradition: accordion of the dancehalls and cafes of yesteryear,cetera (Corsican mandolin) and oud, and Occitan texts. A more contemporary lifebloodof rock is carried through electric guitar, bass and drums, and if you stretchyour ear, you can hear a breeze of ska wafting over these earthy sounds. Thisis a nomadic album in which the French quartet draw you in with seven multiculturalmultilingual tracks. French, English,Spanish and Occitan emerge through a poetry of everyday life: time passing (Jehurle), solitude (Les Solitaires), human relationships (Tes yeux). There is nodoubt that the energy of Almacita will traverse ‘des mers et des continents, des terres et des oceans’!
