So the violin is uncommonly in the focus in the wide sound spectrum of Progressive Rock and Metal. 2008 the band was founded due the recordings for the CD "Red Unicorn". Meanwhile the five musicians from Northgermany can look back on a great amount of club and festival shows, as well as on successful support tours for designated rock giants like U.F.O., Bobby Kimball, ASP and more.

„The special about the music of Ally the Fiddle: the violin is no additional instrument with a unique sound color, but the center of the compositions and live performance. In the past there have been various bands in the prog rock genre containing the sound of a violin; that had always been interesting and beautiful, but the violin remained a stranger or the pieces, where the violin did appear in a manner, where she could show everything she was containing, had been only a few ones.

With Ally and her band it is different. They play a unique music and make an impressive live show. The violin as central instrument of Ally-the-Fiddle is played with the highest skills and combines the power of rock, the complexity of prog rock, the emotionality of folk and the hardness of metal. In the compositions the violin doesn't disappear as an ornament, but becomes THE instrument in focus, congenially connected with the classical instruments of rock music.“
