After college, Leonard studied under Ron Carter and John Lewis, putting in valuable time under their leadership and developing his playing skills further. Once out of their training, Leonard began playing all over the city, occasionally going out of his way for charity functions or the odd international club date. But for the most part, Leonard is an important mainstay of the Big Apple, as his 2001 debut release Down in the Depths can attest to. ~ Bradley Torreano
