My work is process oriented. I may start with a vague concept but it is in the process itself that the final work is realized. I work in fused glass because the process is not immediate but involves transformation of the work through a series of firings and techniques. Each step has the potential for the unexpected which involves a level of interaction with the work which is what determines its direction and final conclusion. For me as an artist my roll is to make choices and solve problems the final piece is the result of those choices, solutions and something transcendent that emerges in the process.
