About me:

Youth Projects MySpace Profile:
A One-Stop Portal For All Youth Projects and Youth on MySpace

I'm a big fan of youth projects, and regularly visit related websites and MySpace profiles to find projects to get involved with. There's so many youths with projects, and established youth projects, on MySpace - but no one place to find them all. So I started this profile to get them all together and help others like me.

Eventually I'll like to do an alphabetical directory of all the projects added here, which will make searching easier. If you would like to help me out, send me a message on this profile or my own MySpace profile.

Who I'd like to meet:
Myspace Layouts

If you are:

  • A youth or youth-oriented project (youth = 13-30 yrs)
  • A young person involved in youth projects
  • Interested in youth projects

ADD US!

We're currently not adding bands; however, music-related projects are welcome. If you have any recommendations for profiles I should add, leave a message.

A huge rally for Queer Rights is happening this weekend in the city centre.

This is your chance to be part of a massive event in which the LGBTIQ community and our supporters will call on our government to end discrimination against queer people in this country.

Through this public rally we are demanding:

- same-sex marriage and civil unions now!
- Rudd remove all 102 pieces of legislation discriminating against queers!
- an end to homophobia in schools!

Please forward this information to as many people as possible. Call friends and family to inform them. Nag your house mates. Tell strangers in the street. It is crucial to have as many people as possible attending so we can have our collective voices heard.

If you want more information, please call Susan 0415 154 555 or Sean 0435 072 347.

See you on Sunday at 1pm in Queens Park (behind the Treasury Casino)!!!!!

Take a stand against queerphobia on campus...

On Thursday 20 March, 2008 students from the QUT Queer Collective were vilified by patrons of the Student Guild Bar on Kelvin Grove Campus.

The collective was attending our first weekly Queer Pool Comp. Members were distributing a petition amongst bar patrons calling on support for same-sex civil unions. Upon reviewing the collected signatures, it was noticed a patron had written homophobic, hateful and offensive comments directed at queer people.

As students we demand the right to access Guild services, such as the bar, without fear of attacks of this nature.

Please join us in reclaiming our bar. We need as many queer and queer-friendly staff, students and members of the public to support us in sending a message that this kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable.

Where: Student Guild Bar
Level 4 C Block
Kelvin Grove Campus

When: Thursday April 3, 2008
4PM onwards

Join us for a night of pool, socialising and solidarity.

Please distribute this message widely. Apologies for cross-posting.

As Australians indulged in over $200 million worth of chocolate this week, some 100,000 children were forced to work as slaves on cocoa fields in West Africa producing 70% of the very chocolate we eat.

In 2001, all the world's chocolate companies made a promise to end child slavery in cocoa by July 2008. We only have four months to go.

We need young people like you to lead the movement. Become an End Child Slavery Ambassador today.
Applications close this Friday 4 April, so sign up today!

Head to www. endchildslavery. com to get involved!

Hey

For the last month I’ve been participating in a MySpace competition for PloyMe. I had to put logos and info about PloyMe and add the most friends to my MySpace site. You’ll be happy to hear that I WON! Thank you all so much for helping me.

As the winner I get a paid job to maintain a new MySpace site for people who want to work at music festivals this summer. I am reclaiming my site as my personal page.

You can find the new site at www.myspace.com/ploymefestival it will be used to recruit people to work at music festivals this summer. And since summer is almost over :( you better add the site quick to be the first to score these awesome jobs. When the site gets enough friends they will have competitions where you can win tickets to festivals, like Good Vibrations etc. All the festival jobs are booked through PloyMe so you have to sign up to get these jobs.

PloyMe also has heaps of other cool jobs on their site right now. To find it simply do a Google search for PloyMe and follow the instructions.

The application will be available online only from January 15-March 15, 2008.
