Withering Soul evokes a sound of its own, that is both fierce and majestic.
Anything from menacing riffs, brutally catchy rhythms, to eerie melodies, are what will haunt the ears of anyone who listens. Painted atop a diverse arrangement is the spectre of both melodic chants and sinister screams. The end result is an orchestrated seance of driving guitars, pummeling percussion, and unearthly keyboards. The lyrical content itself, echoes of various themes of the human psyche and the supernatural.

Withering Soul was founded by brothers Mykil (Vocals) and Krystofer (Guitars /Synths), and what originally started as a side project, eventually developed into a full band. The group rehearsed with drummer Matt Block to complete their debut release, Apparitions of the Surreal (2004).

The band has shared the stage with legendary acts such as Enslaved, Dark Funeral, Vreid, Atrocity, Macabre, Chthonic, Monstrosity, Finntroll, ABSU, Leaves Eyes, Moonspell and Satyricon.

In 2009, the band joined the lineup on "ReUnation - A Tribute to Running Wild" with their cover of "Firebreather." The album was released worldwide by Germany's Remedy Records and received positive reviews including "Best Song on the Album" by WeRock (SWE).

In 2011, the band saw the release of its much anticipated full length album, "No Closure" via Mortal Music (MVD Distribution). The album was co-produced and mixed by Chris Wisco at Belle City Sound, and mastered at Sweden's The Cutting Room. The album also featured guest vocals by Melissa Ferlaak. The album later earned a spot on Apoch's Metal Review: "Top 50 Albums of 2011".

In keeping up with a diligent work ethic, Withering Soul is currently recording new material for another release projected at the end of the 2014. The ultimate goal of the band is to continue to evolve with climactic song structures, gripping mood changes, and leave behind a legacy of its ghastly musical art.
