Witchdoctor Recording was founded by Shawn Livingston Moseley and partner Rob Pevitts in Salem, Ma. The first studio was built in a historical colonial home. The home previously belonged to a doctor, in Salem, Ma. where there are witches...hence, Witchdoctor!. After 5 years at that location, Witchdoctor moved to Brooklyn, Ny in DUMBO. Currently, that facility is still in operation under the name Translator Audio, run by engineer giant Andrew Schneider. Shawn, having moved back home to Hawai'i in 2005, has opened a private facility in Honolulu for Mixing and Mastering. Currently under construction is a new facility being built in Honolulu for tracking. In the meantime, any live tracking of records done by Witchdoctor is done utilizing the Brooklyn facility, local studios in Hawai'i and our favorite space, the Atherton Perfroming arts Studio at Hawai'i Public Radio.
