| About Wilgus |
|
Wilgus was formed in 2005 in Seattle, Washington. The original members; Mark Wilgus, Bob Silverstein, Will Mansfield, and Matt Cunningham, got together through professional and private connections to form the hard rock band. In March 2006, the band released their debut EP, Slow Meat Suicide, which included the controversial track Invisible White Privilege and the anti-war dirge, Somebody’s Son (the latter song broke into the top 25 tracks on Neil Young’s antiwar site, Living With War Today). The all-original music of Wilgus addresses topics ranging from the acutely personal to the current social and political worlds. Their music has been compared to the Meat Puppets, Neil Young, Nirvana, and Black Sabbath.
