Blending elements of the metal spectrum, When Life Has Ceased have staked their claim on making songs that shouldn't make sense actually make sense. But the journey to this point has not been an easy one...
Formed in the summer of 2000 in Fort Worth, TX, WLHC originally consisted of Frank Garcia on bass, Troy Leir on drums, and longstanding member Adam Epstein handling both guitar & vocal duties. The band was ready to take on the world with this lineup, playing their first show ever at Ridglea Theater shortly thereafter, opening for Orchid and Lightning Bolt. But this incarnation was to be shortlived when Leir departed the band.
In the summer of 2001 the band regrouped with the addition of drummer Steven Summers. After a more formidable run of 6 months,the band suffered another setback: bassist Frank Garcia's sudden, and somewhat mysterious, disappearance. This was an especially hard hit for the band, as it was left with only one founding member. The future of the band was, for the first time, in doubt. Its remaining two members began to explore other avenues.
However, in the summer of 2003 all doubt was erased with the lineup revamped by the additions of Tetris (Eric), a former bandmate of Summers', on bass and Ryan Johnson on vocals. Momentum gained quickly and the band played showcases for various radio stations and established itself as a live juggernaut. This all culminated with the release of their first full length CD "My Scar" on May 15, 2004.
In the summer of 2004, WLHC expanded the line-up to include Dylan on second guitar and Ed Velez (ex-XphyXia) on drums.
The band has continued to play in support of the cd while beginning to work on its followup, which they hope to unleash on the public before year's end. Recently Ryan "Rope Head" Johnson and Tetris (Eric) left the band. Eric was quickly replaced by ex-XphyXia bassist Dan Washington. With a new direction in sight and with more determination than ever before, all members have decided to take over vocal duties bringing the band up to a 4-man vocal assault. In mid 2007 WLHC expanded by adding David to the lineup to take over lead vocal duties freeing the rest of the band to concentrate on playing. The band is scheduled to record and play all dates that have been booked. We will soon add more updates, press release, and tour dates.
