we all went to france and wrote some songs. it was hot, we were in the middle of nowhere and there was plenty of cheese and wine. we went swimming, went on bike rides, went to super-u, and crashed into a telegraph pole.
upon our return we recruited ads to play trumpet and started to play gigs.
we played our first show at the ultimate picture palace in Oxford on the 2nd December 2007, with the fantastic Little Wings.
our second was at the bullingdon arms for swiss concrete, and most recently we headlined a busy jericho tavern.
we've received heavy rotation from 'bbc oxford introducing' and been played on radio 1 by huw stephens.
"a band that I recommend any promoter in oxfordshire to book, any promoter anywhere to be frank. I think they're amazing" - tim bearder, bbc oxford introducing
"well worth checking out" - huw stephens, bbc radio 1
"always good to hear good old fashioned instruments being played with such gusto and with such glee. i'd love to see this band play live." richard allinson, radio 2
"['chalon valley house band'] is my favourite song by a local artist this year" - dave gilyeat, bbc oxford introducing
Wow everyone I just listened to the BBC session! I'm so proud of you! The Wom Tade vocals are the best thing in the world ever.
Those presenters are VERY ENTHUSIASTIC AND LOUD compared to you. You are enthusiastic but the presenters are frighteningly so. What was yr favourite part of the day? Defo yr group phone conversation in the wee hours of this morning?
You had better play Truck because The Deirdres are stewarding and then you can get them to watch you and they can be yr friends and then you can introduce them to me. Ok?
So how does it feel to be famous?! Don't forget us little people when you have made it real big. One day soon, when there are no children and dogs to look after I will come to a gig. I promise. x x x
Hello Weronauts, can you please do a cover of Where the Wild Roses Grow by Nick Cave and Kylie one day please. Maybe when you're on the Live Lounge schmoozing with Jo Whiley and Prince or something. I reckon you could do a totally rad version of it what with the Tom boy vocals and the Anna girl vocals.
