Having shaped their sound through an unrelenting rehearsal schedule, frequent appearances in some of Vancouver's finest venues and a brief tour of their home province as well as the wild rose country, Vonnegut Dollhouse will be returning to choice studio, The Hive Creative Labs, this summer to record once again with Ornamental Etherworld engineer, Jesse Gander.
Last year saw the release and subsequent tour in support of Ornamental Etherworld. The album was garnered international attention due to its award-winning and Juno nominated packaging design, put together by Jeff Harrison. The album doesn't rest on it's visually artistic laurels alone, however, with positive reviews coming from music critics and show-goers alike.
Members Alyson Fun and Ozmuir share vocal and guitar/bass duties while James Henry Ford III, Chris Cantrell and Jakub Vonnegut expertly support them on synthesizers, lead guitar, and drums respectively.
Ornamental Etherworld has charted in the top 30 most played albums at several campus station across Canada, and was also named 5th top selling local album shortly following its release at Vancouver record store, Red Cat Records.
Vonnegut Dollhouse is certain to be a band to watch next year and the group is anticipating a more exhaustive tour following the release of their next album. Fans of the five-piece will recognize a few familiar elements but should expect a departure, as the band continues to play Magellan of unexplored rock landscapes.

"Ornamental Etherworld presents familiar Canadian indie pop fare with adequate doses of weirdness, clever lyrics, pseudo-artsy references to the late, great Kurt Vonnegut, and ear-friendly music. What's not so typical about Vonnegut Dollhouse is the intertwining of crunchy, 70s jazz-rock guitar licks with electronic keyboards that sound like a cross between 80's Moog and a church organ."
"The music is wicked fine... Imagine the Beach Boys meets Botch while the B-52s fly by and XTC counts it out. And that's all in one song, "Ugly Kids Steal Bikes." Oh yeah, they've got a knack for titles as well... B+"

You totally rocked on Friday! I've had VD on my list of bands to see for quite some time, and now I'm really upset at myself for waiting so long.... let's do it again sometime, and always let us know when yer playing!
