About me:
Uptown NOW is the Uptown, Minneapolis chapter of the Minnesota National Organization for Women. Our goal is simple: equality for women. A group of activists started Uptown NOW in summer 2006. Uptown NOW events include educational events at local bars and coffee shops, our monthly happy hours, and action on hot topics that get us hot and bothered. Stay tuned for more to come! You can visit the Minnesota NOW website for information on how to join. http://www.mnnow.org

Hello.
First we want to say thank you for your support and awareness on this very important issue for it is an issue that touches and affects each one of us.
You will be hearing much more from us as we move forward with this campaign. We are currently prioritizing the need for healthcare insurance for the women and children of America. We are reaching out to the community, asking that the community as well, communicate this issue of healthcare for women and children to everyone that they feel understands the issue and priority of healthcare for women and children.
We ask that individuals and communities get involved to support comprehensive healthcare for women and children.
We encourage everyone to communicate to the candidates running for national office (Congress and the White House) that we will support and vote for a common sense plan for national healthcare insurance for the women and children of America.
In support of a coherent plan.
It is time think clearly!

I've been busy lately working new designs for my store Stop the GOP! and reading the Deathly Hollow non-stop ;-) . I tried to do more than just make generic candidate logos(although I have those too). I've actually picked out some of my favorite quotes from each of the candidates so that you can let people know why you're supporting your choice- right now Edwards, Clinton, Obama, and Kucinich are available.

Check them out and let me know what you think(and feel free to send others my way).

Oh I almost forgot- for a limited time if you buy 3 t-shirts you get a fourth one free! No coupon necessary!

Take your work for women’s rights to a new level.

Be a part of the Young Feminist Leadership Institute and National NOW conference. Find out what goes on behind the scenes. Volunteer for 3 hours and get a pass to the volunteer party on Sunday!
Volunteering provides the opportunity to see how it all works, networking with people from all over the country. Volunteers are needed for the following areas: Registration, Floor-mike monitor, Conference Office, Security, Information Booth, Media Relations Office, Exhibits, Workshop Monitor, Plenary Session, Runner or "Whatever's Clever".
Volunteer Requirements: 1) be a NOW member 2) Must register for Conference.

Visit NOW's website for conference details please go to
www.now.org/conference/. From there you can submit a workshop proposal, download ad and/or sponsor information; download a vendor application; also to register for the conference and to register as a volunteer. Please tell them the Screaming Sisterhood sent you.

The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths.
These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep, loving concern.
Beautiful people do not just happen.
