About me:
UnTamed Philly is an extension of UnTamed Entertainment, LLC, a Promotions and Marketing family of 'artrepreneurs' who produce The UnTamed Tongues Poetry Lounge & the daily internet radio show, UnSung Radio ( Las Vegas )... there were several spirits who guided this union-- The Enigma Poets( Chicago ) and their manager, Bernard Jenkins ( Indiana ) who actually made the introduction between Warrick and j-IcE in the fall of 2004... after an intensely uplifting conversation with Warrick and since j-IcE was going to be in Vegas on business at the time of the next Lounge (featuring Enigma Poet, Harold 'HB' Branch) the invitation was extended and she accepted...
One year later... to contain the artistic make-up of UnTamed Philly to words is next to impossible... it's been pure fire though- burning, cleansing, rebirthing... the flames who have flickered and smoldered the scene with us have been and are the inspiration; we pray that they know who they are... more specifically, Hendy, Swayyah, Brotha Train and j-IcE blazed the stage in October '05 ( and it's no mere coincidence that astrologically they're all fire! ) at the UnTamed Tongues Poetry Lounge, releasing their CD, 'UnTamed Thoughts', and also having the pleasure of being supported musically by Miami spin-master, Bekay, The Brass King of Above Ground Music...
Current artistic empowerment focuses: evolutionizing our poetic gifts with the Prysmatic Dreams telephone venue, TheSession (the 3rd Saturday of every month @ 10pm) , the upcoming Love Thyself Marketplace and Wellness fair held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Sunday, April 23rd; the fundraiser for the benefit of The Giovanni Reid Post Conviction Relief Fund- scheduled for Hiphop Appreciation Week (May 15-22) and a Tribute to Gil Scott Heron featuring the legendary Last Poets with UnTamed PhiLLy on July 15th for the benefit of the effort to rename part of Diamond Street after Father Paul Washington of the Church of the Advocate to name a few...
