VOICE (Vietnamese Overseas Initiative for Conscience Empowerment) is a non-profit organization, providing a voice for the overseas Vietnamese community through education and advocacy for the protection of Vietnamese refugees, counter trafficking of Vietnamese women and children in South-east Asia and other issues confronting the conscience of our community.
The Union of North American Vietnamese Student Associations (uNAVSA) is a non-profit, non-partisan, community-based organization. uNAVSA was founded in 2004 as a collaborative effort between the Intercollegiate Vietnamese Student Union (IVSU) of New England and the Union of Vietnamese Student Associations of Southern California (UVSA Socal) as a means for youths to organize socially and civically within the local communities. Committed to cultural awareness, educating youths, and community service, the uNAVSA staff is composed of volunteers including young professionals, college students, and high school students. Encompassing the finest young leaders in the Vietnamese American community, uNAVSA strives at accomplishing its educational goals, charitable goals, and cultural programs goals.
Servicing the Vietnamese American community of North America, UVSA collaborates with local Vietnamese American youth organizations all over the continent. To these ends, we organize a wide range of social, cultural, civic, and educational activities to help Vietnamese American youths develop a sense of their heritage and identity.

We are happy to write this email to you to once again announce the 2007 Anti-Human Trafficking Conference.
This FREE conference will be held on August 25th at Chapman University where we will have Mark Taylor from the State Department's Trafficking in Person's Office as a keynote speaker. We also have the Honorable Grace Becker from the Department of Justice . In addition to that, we will have a speaker from Taiwan who works directly with the victims/survivors of human trafficking with many years of experience as well as local leaders and activists in the community who will share their experiences. Different from the previous year, as attendees you will be able to discuss and formulate action plans to take in order to address and fight against the 21st century's modern form of slavery.
