Vor der Operation hofften die Eltern von Zombolo und Zombola auf ein gutes Ende für beide. Der Start ins Leben war mehr als dramatisch. Die Zwillings-Zombolas waren am Kopf zusammengewachsen. Als die Maschinchen einen Monat alt waren, wagten Mediziner in den USA die riskante Trennung. Die kleinen haben den 16-stündigen Eingriff überlebt. Sie hatten allerdings durch die Durchtrennung des gemeinsamen Gehirns massive Schäden erlitten: Seitdem drehen sie sich laufend im Kreis!
