About me: Since our founding in 1966, UCLA's African Student Union has strived to promote holistic development of students through various facets of leadership and overcoming struggles.
1) The Afrikan Student Union exist in order to promote, protect, andserve the interest and educational rights of the individual and collective needs of the Afrikan student body and the Afrikan community within the context of the Struggle for Afrikan liberation
2) The Afrikan Student Union is committed to the achievement of Afrikan Unity and Black consciousness, the promotion of Afrikan Culture and the elimination of all forms of human oppression and exploitation.
Who I'd like to meet: ASU aims to connect with all alumni, current and perspective students within UCLA campus. We are also want to connect with other colleges/universities, and all organizations and individuals supporting and serving the interests of our communities.

5 PILLARS OF CHARACTER BUILDING 1. BELIEF: moral or ethical code(principles) that one follows or accepts in the core of their being.
2. SPIRITUAL AWARENESS: extra mental carefulness to ensure that our actions conform to our beliefs (ethical principles).
3. INTENTION: Intention is the purpose behind all actions and explains why we do what we do. Our intentions must be pure and in tune with our ethics in order to be sincere. the opposite of this is hypocrisy.
4. Obedience/surrender: this means we must follow (obey) the ethical rules we believe in.
5. Courtesy/manners: right action or good conduct. This is also called etiquette. Etiquette is the one of the highest manifestations of character; it is the external evidence of one's inner values, ethics,and beliefs.
