You rise from the winter coldness A flame whose birth has come Reaching like a golden goddess Toward the welcome sun.
The snow here is slowly melting away and the crocuses are just starting to peek their little petals through the snow. I look forward to the vivid colour of the irises, daffodils and tulips and the return of my busy little hummingbirds. I have my feeders all ready and waiting. :):)

Videos, discussions, workshops, and nationally recognized speakers will cover a wide range of animal protection issues.
Some of these topics will include:
..Increasing penalties for cruelty to companion animals and passage of Henry's Law
..Abuse of animals in laboratories and factory farms

A vote for Nader is a vote against unbridled Corporate Power,It's a vote to change the way immigration works in our country, it's a vote for higher standards of living for all people. It's a vote for equality and social justice. A vote for a greener planet and alternative energy solutions. vote Nader/Gonzales 2008! Nader doesn't take votes away from democrats or republicans, people choose not to participate in a two party system that has failed them in the past and will continue to fail them in the future. people who would not have voted turn up to vote for a candidate who hasn't or won't compromise his morals for the sake of money or anything else.
My Utah Friend, I'm writing because the Utah State Legislature is proposing a bill which would allow the divestment of funds in companies that do business in Darfur. I'm sure most of you are aware of the genocidial crisis that is raging in Darfur but in case you're not familiar visit www.savedarfur.org. Just looking at the campaign to free South Africa, divestment was the one thing that governments can't ignore, so please visit the site below. You just enter your address and the site will send a letter to your state represenative, and please send to your friends. Strong support will allow this bill to succeed unlike Scott McCoy's renewable energy bill (S.B. 173) which died in committee yesterday.
This pic reminded me of my beloved dog Sid. He was a huge Rotweiller/Shepherd/Lab mix and loved children so much especially four year olds. He would get so excited when he saw children and was always so gentle when he played with them. He could have so easily knocked them over but, never did. It's been quite awhile since his passing and I miss him still. He had a good long life but, it doesn't seem to matter how long we have our pets, it's never long enough.
The Utah Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is currently revising six separate Resource Management Plans (RMPs) affecting nearly 11 million acres of public land throughout the state. Much like city zoning plans that identify which areas are appropriate for industrial use and which should be set aside for city parks, these RMPs will determine how the BLM manages our public lands—including 5 million acres of proposed wilderness—for decades to come. Public participation is essential to ensuring that areas worthy of protection are not sacrificed for industrial use or left vulnerable to careless degradation. At stake are some of the state’s most stunning landscapes—places like Desolation Canyon, the Book Cliffs, Fisher Towers, the San Rafael Swell, Parunuweap Canyon, Indian Creek, and many more.
Please visit Southern Utah Wildnerness Alliance's Take Action page to add your comments to the proposed plan but hurry comment periods end 1/10 for some districts. http://www.suwa.org
"The New Year offers another chance to create a new chapter in our own memoir, as every page is blank. Call this one, Opportunity...And take advantage of each one as if it were your last."
