Echoing through the gates of the land locked island, college town of Ithaca, New York comes Who You Are. The brainchild of the ubiquitous songwriter Trevor MacDonald emerges from the dust and dirt and sprouts upon the stage delivering a shot of Indie Americana strait to the soul. Some have said Wilco, Bright Eyes, even U2 or Bruce Springsteen. We think you should decide about who you are for yourself.
This year alone Trevor alongside Chris Predmore (bass), Russ Sternglass (drums) and Jason Shegogue (guitar) have thrown down at the GrassRoots Festival, the Ithaca Festival, Elmira College, Erie’s Pepsi Amphitheater, toured to North Carolina and Back, performed live on the mammoth NPR station WNCW, jammed with roots rock pioneers Donna the Buffalo, and made many more memorable stops throughout NY, PA, WV, VA. To top it off the bands debut album is being released by their indie record label yup nope on September 9th 2008. The Ithaca Beer Co. has already requested a track from the new album for their Taste of Ithaca Compilation.
People are talking about Who You Are.
“The eponymous album is, not surprisingly, a lot like MacDonald himself: inviting, intelligent, and multi-faceted. The sound falls into the more pop-end of the rock spectrum for most of the album. However, there is certainly an Americana undercurrent that remains true to MacDonald's past writing style. The second track Your America with its rapid delivery and energetic vocals, brings to mind the Talking Heads. Tracks like these are balanced out by more roots-influenced tracks like Rapid Fire . The lyrical content too has a large span to boast ranging from the social commentary of
Your America to the heartbroken Carry Me Across . This combination of social awareness and emotion seems to permeate the band, right down to the name.”
The Ithaca Times
“ The gravelly alt-country singer-songwriter lets a life time on the road and in the fields give his tunes an honest, rootsy feel that hard to find and harder to fake.”

Hey I let Brandy know that you're in town... she is gathering a crowd for ya'll! I'm 4wheeling tonight... Not sure how "clean" we'll be to stop into Otters. Good Luck with the show!
I'll stick my thumb out next time I'm hitch hiking, I woulda liked to have seen you for a little longer than traffic laws allow, though. I'll be hearing you around, I'm sure.
Yay! That's what I was thinking too!! I really wish I could come to the show, but I already had Nico's party planned. We're doing the family thing earlier in the day. Hope you make it... bring whoever!
Oh, I know... I really did want to go. I'm sure it would have been another good time seeing y'all :) You know, a road trip may be in order for these new tunes of yours. Good Luck this weekend!
I enjoyed the performance in Erie. The sunset was amazing! I am looking forward to seeing you at the Barn Yard Dance, Pumped to see you play at the Lakeview. I hopefully can make the whole show. We should chat and have a cool beverage. Love in Peace, Jenny
Your sound is peaceful and beautiful. I love the mood set in the new pictures, also has simple character. That has got to help when writing music. Love and Peace, Jenny
