My name is Shannon and I am currently training in mixed martial arts in Cecil county Maryland. I've been practicing Isshinryu karate under the Order of Isshinryu for about 8 years and was promoted to Shodan (1st degree Black belt) in November of '06. I've Been training full contact MMA for about 2 years now, and am a proud member of the Rising Sun fight team. I'm anxiously waiting for my first MMA match hopefully coming up soon... who knows where it will take me but I love every part of the training, its what keeps my heart pumping... Besides my family and friends, my instructors are the most important people in my life. They are my backbone and motivators and possess an amazing amount of talent and knowledge that keeps me hungry to learn...

We have two dojos located in Cecil County Maryland, One in Rising Sun and one in Elkton headed by Sensei Ron Tyree and 3 other instructors. Currently our Rising Sun dojo is full contact mixed martial arts based on Isshinryu, Muay Thai, Brazillian Jiu-jitsu and other forms. Our Elkton dojo is more traditinal Isshinryu but also incorporates all styles of stand up and ground fighting as well as self defense street tactics...
