Touchstone are a five piece Rock band based in Herts/Oxon. Their specific and unique brand of melodic rock was initially the brainchild of Rob Cottingham and Adam Hodgson. The band has developed in many ways since the early days, and morphed into the present line up with Moo on Bass Guitar, Alasdair Melville on drums and outstanding new vocalist, Kim Seviour - her beautiful voice has added a great deal to the existing soundscape. The debut album and follow up to the hugely successful Mad Hatters EP; Discordant Dreams was recorded at Outhouse Studios in June 2007, and released on 10th September 2007. It was just voted the second best album of 2007 by the members of the Classic Rock Society at whose award night we were presented with the award for Best New Band. John Mitchell loaned his expert ears to do the mixing and has also kindly agreed to contribute some of his trademark guitar shredding to one of the tracks. The album was mastered by Tim Turan at Turan audio and is available to buy on Amazon.co.uk and our website. You can find news, updates, and info as it happens on this page or on our official webpage. Hey Touchstone! Congratulations on being chosen for ROSfest '09! Its a great fest and the people who go to the event are wonderful (if we do say so). My wife and I have gone to every one since the beginning ('09 will be #6). Bring lots of merch, you'll definitely need it, this lot loves its prog. Prepare for a very enthusiastic reception. See you then! Michael
Time to touch base with Touchstone. :) Still enjoying your wonderful music, and I must say that you sound better with each new listen. So glad to hear about your invitation to play at RoSfest! It's a great event, you'll see! Hope to catch you there in Pennsylvania, next year.
Hey! I attended the Prog Rock Hall of Fame show (at the Power of Prog Festival) last weekend, where you were announced as the Best New Progressive Rock Indie Artist. Cheers!
Received Discordant Dreams in the post Friday (from Amazon) and have to say I’m well impressed! Not stopped playing it all weekend!
After seeing you at Crewe, with The Reasoning, a while back and also hearing Mad Hatters EP I knew the CD would be good, but it’s GREAT! Would have got it earlier if cash hadn’t been tighter than a ducks ass right now! LOL!
