About Mr Basista (ALBUM OUT NOW - MUM SAYS BUY THUNK)
Currently on BBC Intoducing tour (BBC are giving centre stage to new up and coming unsighnds...good) and teaching Mcing, Djing etc to youth round the UK as part of Defcon Workshops. If you cant hear the music..... it's an experimental journey in the freestyle, unconscious mind…… Mr Basista, experimental freestyle lyricist and musical force, has recently released his debut solo album THUNK. The album is a culmination of his life’s musical experiences so far. Since the age of 14 and his first mic battle, Mr Basista has been heavily involved in the UK music scene. An original member of the Defcon Crew, talented pianist, vocalist and producer, Basista has rapped and played alongside Britain’s hip hop elite. Mr Basista’s sound takes influence from his varied and experimental life journey through music – he has hosted a number of Regular Live Nights, including hip hop radio show on Juice FM. He has gigged live all over the country for the last decade, sharing a stage with Skinnyman, Nicky Blackmarket, Jehst, Mr thing, Phi Life Cypher, Blu rum 13, Dark Circle, Task Force, Tommy Evans, Killa Kella, Dr Syntax, Terra Firma, K–lashnekoff & Foreign Beggars to name a few. 2005 saw him ripping up centre stage in a headline line set alongside Live Funk collective The True Ingredients at Ministry of Sound. Basista’s passion burns not only for hip hop but he believes exists to be indulged extensively, from a little Dub step to electro, indie funk and jazz roots, originally from South East London, Mr Basista now resides in Kent – for the last 2 years Mr B has been writing, recording and producing his debut solo album, scribing his own experimental journey in the freestyle, unconscious mind…THUNK IS BORN. Mr B simply says: ‘Fun, funky shit.’ THUNK is out now and available to buy on CD. www.mrbasista.co.uk www.myspace.com/tomberculosis

THX for spreading the love man! Keep on the lookout for more super deep releases: "Feel The Feelings- (SmartAfro RMx)", hitting the shelves next Monday, and don't forget the super scientifical Arlo Planck solo 12"--its been smashing up dancefloors like a spam-merchant.

I don't know - deppends what it is but always cheaper than ebay since I don't have to write anything - like most of the hip hop 12"s are £5.

I'm selling everything I own, besides about 50 records and a few clothes - if you want anything before I put it all on ebay then let me know. Maybe Spike would want some things.
I needto pick up my turntables soon so I can sort through everything - when's your next day off?

May 11 2008 4:59 AM

Hello people. I hope you don't mind me popping by like this.

Please help a little voice make a big noise - well kinda.

If you click the "vote for us" icon on the surnise banner on my profile it will navigate away to my details on the sunrise site. Here all you do is click the andrea magee band and upon leaving your email address your vote is counted.

It is for the possibility to win a spot on the main stage at this festival and I would dearly love to get it.

Please check out my songs and if you like them add me as a friend too as my EP is due at the end of the month.

The competition closes on the 14th May.

Thanks so much for your time and any support!

A xx
